Prepser vs Pulpit AI: sermon notes, drafts and price

Prepser is our product. Facts about Pulpit AI come from its own public pages and Subsplash's, linked in the table. Checked October 31, 2026. If something has changed, email support@prepser.com and we'll correct it.

Prepser and Pulpit AI both turn a preached sermon into material for the week: a transcript, small group questions, a recap email, social posts. The difference is where they start and how far they go. Prepser is an iPhone and iPad app that records the sermon from the pulpit, keeps every sermon and note in one library you can chat with, and drafts the next sermon from your own preaching. Pulpit AI is a web platform from Subsplash that works from files you upload and, in its own words, does not generate new theological content.

Where the work starts

With Prepser, the sermon is captured where it happens. Tap record before you step up, put the phone on the pulpit, and the transcript builds while you preach. After the service, Prepser sends a push when the transcript is ready. Link the sermon to a Sunday Message prep and tap Generate Sermon Artifacts: outline, key points, Scripture, prayer points, posts, newsletter, small group questions and the invitation review. A thought in the car or a page from your study Bible goes into the same library: speak it or scan it.

Pulpit AI starts from a file. Its pricing page lists uploads of audio or video and of manuscripts in TXT, DOCX, PDF or PPT, and each plan comes with a monthly number of uploads: 5, 10 or 25.

Drafting the next sermon

This is the clearest difference. In Prepser, AI Chat has a Draft a sermon button: give it a passage or topic, pick the audience, length and format, and leave Draw on my notes and preps on. The draft builds on what you have already preached and studied, so it sounds like you, and it lists the notes it used. You study it, cut it and preach your own message. You can read complete examples on our sermon pages.

Subsplash describes Pulpit AI as creating content taken directly from your sermons, not new theological content. Its Sermon Assistant is a chat that helps refine outlines and add scriptural insights to a message you are preparing.

One library, not one sermon at a time

Prepser is an AI second brain for pastors. Ask AI Chat what you preached on forgiveness last year, which illustrations you have used for grace, or how your Romans series developed, and it answers from your own sermons and notes, with the sources listed. Pulpit AI's help center describes chatting with a sermon you uploaded, along with a library of saved prompts.

Pricing

Prepser Pro is $8.99 a month or $74.99 a year, about $6.25 a month, with no limit on the number of sermons. The Free plan includes 30 AI chat messages, 3 sermon drafts, 3 prep generations and 3 study notes a month. Pulpit AI's plans are $39 a month for 5 uploads, $59 for 10 and $129 for 25, with 10% off when billed yearly. Prepser Pro is a personal subscription billed by Apple. Details on our pricing page.

What Prepser doesn't do

Prepser doesn't cut video. If short captioned clips of your sermon for social media are what you need, Prepser won't make them; it writes the posts, not the videos.

Frequently asked

Who makes Pulpit AI?

Pulpit AI is part of Subsplash, the church app and media company, and has its own site at pulpitai.com. Prepser is an independent iPhone and iPad app and is not affiliated with Pulpit AI or Subsplash.

Can I bring sermons I have already preached into Prepser?

Yes. Import the audio file and Prepser transcribes it in a few minutes, and a Sunday Message prep built on it gets the same material as a fresh recording: outline, key points, Scripture, prayer points, posts, newsletter and small group questions. Imported sermons join your library, so AI Chat and Draft a sermon can use them.

Does Prepser use my sermons to train AI?

No. Your recordings and notes are never used to train AI models and never sold. Transcription and generation are processed by OpenAI and AssemblyAI on our behalf, and you can delete your account and everything in it from Settings in the app. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
